Welcome to the SIBYLS beamline

SIBYLS offers High-Throughput Small Angle X-ray Scattering (HT-SAXS) and Size-Exclusion Chromatography Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SEC-SAXS) data collection through our mail-in program.

Log in to book a mail-in SAXS slot. If you don't have an account, you will need to register (see top menu). For instructions on sample prep, shipping and other important information see links at top menu for either HT-SAXS or SEC-SAXS.

Be sure to acknowledge SIBYLS when using data generated at beamline 12.3.1.

ANNOUNCEMENT : Mail-in Shifts now open

• The ALS Fall user beam cycle is scheduled to run from October 14, 2025, through December 23, 2025. You can now book your Mail-in SAXS shifts.

• If your lab does not currently have a SIBYLS account, please create one to view available shift dates and reserve a mail-in slot.

• If you are new to SAXS or if you need a refresher, please visit our beamline website to view webinars and tutorials at https://bl1231.als.lbl.gov/webinars/.
